Hello everyone!! I am Mufidah. Today i will practice my speaking and pronunciation trough reading a news.
Good afternoon, viewers. You’re watching TVB News with me, Mufidah Yumna. We will bring you the most updated news from all around the world.
The first news is Climate change: Why India can't live without coal. India, the world's third largest emitter of fossil fuels still relies heavily on coal. As nations are urged to phase it out, how easy will it be for India - a fast-growing and developing nation - to ditch the crucial energy resource?
India's challenges with climate change can be reflected in a conversation I had with a young businessman named Shaunak back in 2006.
"Why should Indians be asked to reduce carbon emissions, when the West has been polluting the planet for decades, and has reaped the benefits?" he asked.
The sharp-suited entrepreneur from the city of Mumbai ran a shoe factory, which by his own admission, chugged dirty gases into the air. "I export these shoes to the UK and America. It's like the West has just exported its emissions to developing countries... now why should we stop?" he asked, bemused.
A lot has changed since then - global emissions have continued to grow, as has India's population and its economy.
And as the West urges India to reduce its carbon emissions, the focus remains on its reliance on coal, one of the dirtiest of fuels which is responsible for more than 70% of India's energy production. The second news is North Korea: Military parade features hazmat suits, gas masks. North Korea has held a military parade to mark the communist state's 73rd founding anniversary, but did not display any major ballistic missiles.
State media photos of the night-time parade showed marching soldiers and workers in hazmat suits instead.
Leader Kim Jong-un, who looked visibly slimmer, was seen among the unmasked crowds hugging children.
North Korea is suffering from food shortages and a deepening economic crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. On Thursday, state media released images of fire trucks, tractors, and fireworks at the parade.
One section of the parade marched in what appeared to be bright red hazmat suits and gas masks, which may be a sign that a special force has been created to help prevent the spread of Covid-19, according to our correspondent. And that was the news for this morning. I am Mufidah Yumna, good afternoon and see you.
Alright. That's all from me thank you for listening and see you on my next podcast :)

  • NARRATE : Mercury and The Woodman
Hello Everyone! Welcome to MY Podcast.
Today i will tell you a story from Aesop's Fables, but before that i will review a little about a cartoon movie that i have watched before. The movie is The Little Prince. The Little Prince is a film adaptation of a book with the same title, Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) by a French pilot, Antoine-Marie-Roger de Saint-Exupéry, in exile in America, during World War II between 1941 to 1943. Through the story of a little boy who watches the world through naive and innocent eyes, the author takes us into the most basic human experience. This film is about a pilot who is stranded alone in the middle of the Sahara desert. In his isolation he meets a boy with golden hair and dressed like a prince who appears out of nowhere. Then the boy was called The Little Prince. The boy did not look scared and confused being in the Sahara desert alone, even innocently he asked the Pilot to draw a sheep. The Pilot's journey with The Little Prince began from then on.
And now i will tell you one of the story from Aesop's Fables. The title is Mercury and The Woodman. A Woodman was felling a tree on the bank of a river, when his axe, glancing off the trunk, flew out of his hands and fell into the water. As he stood by the water's edge lamenting his loss, Mercury appeared and asked him the reason for his grief; and on learning what had happened, out of pity for his distress he dived into the river and, bringing up a golden axe, asked him if that was the one he had lost. The Woodman replied that it was not, and Mercury then dived a second time, and, bringing up a silver axe, asked if that was his. "No, that is not mine either," said the Woodman. Once more Mercury dived into the river, and brought up the missing axe. The Woodman was overjoyed at recovering his property, and thanked his benefactor warmly; and the latter was so pleased with his honesty that he made him a present of the other two axes. When the Woodman told the story to his companions, one of these was filled with envy of his good fortune and determined to try his luck for himself. So he went and began to fell a tree at the edge of the river, and presently contrived to let his axe drop into the water. Mercury appeared as before, and, on learning that his axe had fallen in, he dived and brought up a golden axe, as he had done on the previous occasion. Without waiting to be asked whether it was his or not the fellow cried, "That's mine, that's mine," and stretched out his hand eagerly for the prize: but Mercury was so disgusted at his dishonesty that he not only declined to give him the golden axe, but also refused to recover for him the one he had let fall into the stream. The moral of this story is Honesty is the best policy.
That's all for today, thank you for listening and see you on my next podcast.

  • SING SONG : Alec Benjamin and Finneas
Hello Everyone!! Welcome to MY Podcast!
Today i'm gonna sing two songs. The first song is "Gotta Be A Reason" by Alec Benjamin. And here we go.
"There's gotta be a reason that I'm here on Earth
Gotta be a reason for the dust and the dirt
The changing of the seasons never changed my hurt
So what's it worth? What's it worth?
Worth another shot of whiskey and another sip of gin
Another drop of poison that is slowly sinkin' in
If we're going down together, better take another hit
We won't be here forever so let's make the best of it
    Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
    Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh"
And now let's talk about the song. The song is about the stories of two characters, a former army general who was traumatized by the war and the death of a friend, and a failed actress who was forced to turn into a waitress. The two learn to accept that some things in life can’t be chosen, they are fate. It is up to the listener to decide how their story unfolds. Alec's intention was to explain that even if fate does not give us what we want, we have the ability to choose what to do with what fate gives us.
My experience after sing this song is i realized i should be grateful for my situation and start a change in my life.
The second song is "Break My Heart Again by Finneas". And here we go.
"So go ahead and break my heart again
Leave me wonderin' why the hell I ever let you in
Are you the definition of insanity?
    Or am I?
    Oh, it must be nice
To love someone who lets you break them twice"
And now let's talk about the story behind this song. This is a story of love in the modern age. Love, heartbreak, and the elusiveness of romance. The lyrics revolve around the breakdown of a relationship haunted by miscommunication – and the difficulty of letting go of something you hold dear. My experience after sing this song is i feel that it's a suitable song to listen to when you're sad or upset. You will feel like you have a friend who can feel your sadness.
I think that's enough for today podcast. Thank you for listening and see you on my next podcast..
