I’ve had several questions regarding my interview episode on the gentle parenting method. In this episode, I clarify, address, and further share my thoughts on this. I chat about the importance of approaching any parenting method from a positive space i.e. Parenting starts with working on yourself. When discussing various parenting approaches, it’s difficult or impossible to not also discuss discipline styles.
So, in honor of total transparency, I absolutely dive into the taboo topic of spanking your children. And guess what? I even share whether we do or don’t. Please remember, each parenting approach is unique. There is an abundance of books, tools, and resources to help you on your parenting journey. The most important part of your journey besides reading the books and practicing different methods is to always work on yourself first. If an approach isn’t working, the first place to reflect on is yourself. Then, find a book or a coach that aligns with your values and stick with it. Don’t pivot after 1 week. Stick with it.
