Episode 54 | September 22, 2026
Tell me if this has ever happened to you: you book something exciting, and almost immediately a different voice shows up telling you it's the wrong choice. That's imposter syndrome, and it hits hardest when there's no external reason to justify it. Not for your kids. Not for your team. Just for you.
In this episode, Jennifer talks about why that voice isn't actually the truth. It's an internal mechanism trying to keep you safe, not a sign you've made a mistake. She shares her own experience with it, from her first job out of grad school to what still shows up before almost every session, and walks through what actually happens in the design consultation: how a single chapter of your life becomes the emotions, descriptors, and studio setups that make up your session.
She also gets into the cost of never asking questions of her own mom, grandparents, aunt, and uncle, and why telling your story now, for yourself, is worth doing before you assume there'll be time later.
