September 12, 2024 MY TIME #42: AUTISM: INTERVIEW WITH JAMES WILLIAMS
On this episode of My Time with Tony Hernandez Pumarejo, we had the honor and privilege of interviewing autistic advocate James Williams.
James Williams is a speaker and does presentations around the country on autism. Also, he has consulted at schools around the United States, such as the Minnehaha Academy, Lionsgate Academy, P.A.T.H Academy for Autism, and the Autism O.A.S.I.S. for Kids. Currently, Jams services on the following advisory committees—the Advisory Committee for SPARK, a nationwide research study regarding DNA and autism (since 2017), as well as the steering committee for SafeMinds, an autism awareness organization (since 2015), and the steering committee for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Waisman Center’s Community of Practice on Autism Spectrum Disorders (since 2015).
James is the co-author of The Self-Help Guide For Special Kids and Their Parents (with my mother Joan Matthews), the author of two novels on autism, Out To Get Jack, and The H.A.L. Experiment, the children’s book When Gary Comes to Play, and the co-author of the book West High Story (with autistic self-advocate Alex Phillip). In addition, he is also a professional recorder player.

Jaci Velasquez has sold almost three million albums in the US, recorded three Platinum and three Gold albums, and recorded 16 singles that hit No. 1 plus six more that entered the top 10. She received a Latin Billboard Music Award in 2002 for her album "Mi Corazón", eight Dove Awards, including Best New Artist and Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as three Grammy nominations, and an American Music Award nomination in the category of "Favorite Latin Artist" in 2002.

In this episode of My Time with Tony Hernandez Pumarejo, we had the honor and priviliege of interviewing Ron Sandison from Spectrum Inclusion. Ron Sandison works full time in the medical field and is a professor of theology at Destiny School of Ministry. He is an advisory board member of the Art of Autism and the Els Center of Excellence. Sandison has a Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University and is the author of A Parent’s Guide to Autism: Practical Advice. Biblical Wisdom published by Charisma House and Views from the Spectrum. He has memorized over 15,000 Scriptures including 22 complete books of the New Testament. Sandison speaks at over 70 events a year including 20 plus education conferences. Ron and his wife, Kristen, reside in Rochester Hills, MI, with daughter, Makayla.
We talk with Ron about his life story, Autism, employment, faith and much more!
