My Transformation Story (Part 2)
In Episode 1, I shared my story of transformation from burned out attorney, to stay at home mother, to successful entrepreneur and business coach. Today I share how I made the mental shift away from fear and toward action to create my private coaching practice for women. I had hit all of my professional goals in my network marketing business. I had earned all the incentive trips, rose to the tippy top of the company in sales and personal coaching (No. 3 out of 30K+), and was running my business on autopilot. I was earning a substantial income, and not putting in a ton of time to maintain my business, but there was something wrong. I was bored. Then the fears set in … Who does she think she is to start over? How could she be bored? Over a year long journey, I sat with these stories I was telling myself. I was going through the motions to keep everything afloat - and there was no real a-ha moment. It was only through yoga, meditation, and prayer (and one painful face planting episode!) that I was able to come to terms with the fear and step into my calling. Listening to the powerful intuition inside each of us can be hard - particularly if you have traveled a traditional, structured path in your career - setting goal after goal, and crushing them - for many years. I ultimately settled back down into a very structured process for my new business, but the intuitive method I used to get there felt anything but that. Similar to my first transformation from attorney to stay at home mom, I just decided to trust in my intuition. My first step was to consult with my own coach. From there, I made the decision to show up every day and not to judge whether my actions were good enough. Taking action through fear is the only way out.
