turns out other video podcasts got this email too. i talked to the owner of random vids from the basement and they had to take their podcast down too. im pretty sure the person who sent the emails is targeting large podcasts who post minecraft content. so if you run a smaller podcast i dont think you have much to worry about. if you're a bigger podcaster check your email, you might have received this email too. if you do contact me through my email: [email protected]. i REALLY hope this isn't the end of video podcasts on spotify, but so many podcasts are going offline :/ thank you guys <3
so unfortunately i got an email saying that i can't upload videos anymore cause it breaks copyright law/spotify's terms and condittions so i will be taking down all the videos for the time being
they told me "You can expect a plethora of copyright notices, and potentially legal action in the next few weeks. You are actively breaking Spotify's Terms and Conditions of Use (Section 4) by reuploading content without permission. Regardless of if you choose to monetize this content, you are actively committing copyright infringement."
they are threatening legal action and that is not something i want to be a part of
if things change i will put the videos back up
i wanted to thank you guys for all the support it means a lot this podcast has been a large part of my life and i love reading all your messages <3
