I talk about my recent walk with Franny and one of the interesting things we talked about.  Franny and I usually go for a walk every day.  We love exploring different parts of the city.  On this particular walk we went by a house I've been contemplating buying and then went to the neighborhood that I really love.  Along the way, I started discussing how people's beliefs get instilled in them and how I was regretful that both he and Henry had to deal with unenlightened me during their most formative years.  Interestingly, Franny said that he hardly picked up any of my beliefs when he was younger. That's when I realized that having autism may be a protective device to keep one's focus inward during the most environment-absorbing years of one's life.  I was excited to think that this may be the ultimate survival mechanism for humans, because Franny didn't accept and allow in any of my self-limiting beliefs I was dishing out.  I see this revelation as another way that having autism may be a blessing.
