Logan and I have known each other for pretty much ever… Apparently my first impression on him was not a positive one… But we’re best of friends now! This episode is a little shorter than normal because we had to get going on our Dungeons & Dragons campaign.
We could have talked forever about anything, but Logan has his heart set on his little girl - which he talks about in this episode. She’s adorable and sweet and I’m delighted that you can hear her little coos in the background.
Oh! Logan also agrees that Calgary has the best water.

As one of the many podcasters I’ve had the privilege of associating with, Rosie teaches me about being a French Canadian living in Northern Ontario. Did you know there is a HUGE community of Francophones in Ontario? Apparently, they even have their own accent and dialect of sorts.
We talk about a whole lot of things, including Rosie’s love for the library, her children, and her culture (not necessarily in that order). There are a lot of things you’ll want to google after this episode, like cabane a sucre and the Corinthian Prayer, but here’s a song with the spoons in it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nLmM9kcBKs

Jerrica is my big sis! We’ve always been close, but it was nice to sit down for a conversation. She’s a young mum and she is starting a podcast of her own where she interviews other mothers on who they are besides a mother.

Mike and I talk about nuking Mars, artificial intelligence, and astral-photography. He has great perspective on the world and even considers people far out of his immediate sphere.

Bryce is my little brother! Sure, we grew up together, but there’s still a lot a I don’t know about him. It was delightful to hear that things like grounders and Heritage Park were as formative for him as they were for me.
In this conversation, we dig into what Bryce feels makes a good person and hear a little about how he’s trying to become a good person, himself.

Matt grew up on a farm in Southern Alberta. He tries to give his children similar experiences to what he had growing up. With the 5th on the way, Matt’s focusing on how he can balance work, school, and family.
Like most people, Matt wants to be remembered and loved by those he cherishes most - hence the title of the episode. Here’s the hymn it comes from.

Born and raised in Calgary, Canada, Sarah grew up with 4 older brothers and 1 younger sister - all of whom, she adores. Sarah and I talk about building confidence and being happy - and how she manages both.
You’re probably wondering what exactly “party sharks” are… Yeah, me too! They’re awesome! And according to Sarah, they live in swimming pools.

Lindsey was born and raised in Pingree, Idaho and being the oldest child has always felt a sense of responsibility for her family, taking care of her siblings and being the parent when hers aren’t around. Pingree is a small community and the Mechams had a revolving door of pets including cats, dogs, and even a bird!
At 19, Lindsey went on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She spent 18 months serving people and teaching them about her beliefs. She hopes that going forward, she can indulge a little more in her creative side, writing, acting, singing, and dancing.

Austin grew up in rural Idaho and has kept pretty close to home for most of his life - not just physically, but emotionally, as well. It was clear when we had this conversation that his family means EVERYTHING to him. He speaks particularly fondly of one of his older siblings who introduced him to films like “Schindler’s List” and “The Evil Dead”, sparking a love of film that he demonstrates in his own podcast, Rom-Com Dudes.
In this snapshot of his life, we talk about film, family, and everything in between.
You can hear Austin’s show here.

Becca grew up in a small town in Southern Alberta and grew up quick being the second youngest of 10. After years of sneaking out with her older siblings, Becca finally got to get off the continent and visit England, where her mother was born, and open her eyes to a much wider world. Later, she would serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 18 months in South America. Again, this would open her eyes.
Now she works in therapy, working with youth, helping them grow and find ways to love themselves. Self-soothing and self-love is a theme in this episode. Becca wraps up the episode talking about nature and how humanity’s healing will come from reconnecting with Mother-Earth.
