  • Conversations: Ezekiel - God Gives a New Heart

    In this episode, we discuss the overall story of Ezekiel. The presence of Yahweh departed from the temple in Jerusalem because of Israel and Judah's sin, and God promised to give people a new heart and a new spirit. The book ends with a vision of the new temple with a river flowing out of it that blesses the world. God's mission always has been to restore humanity back to God's presence. Because of the Savior, Jesus, God has now given his own Spirit to dwell in the hearts of believers. The Church is the temple of God!

    In this episode, we reflect on the overall themes in the book Habakkuk. Habakkuk the prophet has a real and authentic dialogue with God about suffering, evil, and why God would use a wicked nation to punish Judah. We can be encouraged to bring our honest prayers to God. We don't have to come to God polished. Sometimes, God will cause us to change our thinking and our theology. He is God, and he is good. And like Habakkuk concludes the book with praise, we too can praise God regardless of our situation.
