Today we’re talking to Robert Pugh. Robert is a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is a retired businessman, pastor, and a father of four grown children. He is also a myeloma patient who helps other patients self-advocate for their care. We invited him on today to learn how he remains positive when facing challenges.

Diagnosed with myeloma in 2012, Stamatis applies his writer’s perspective to coping with the disease. He says, “I think that half a century from now, people will know things that we cannot even imagine now . . .They will answer questions that we cannot even pose now. That is being a writer, you are somehow thinking ahead. I'm always trying to be ahead of this. That's why I fantasize myself 5 years from now, 10 years from now . . .
