The Church is holy but not perfect. She is holy because Christ has made her so by her affiliation with him; yet she is imperfect because of the sins of her members. She is called to strive for perfection in this life but will not achieve such perfection until the next life. CCC

Holiness consists in putting into practice everything Christ taught. 

Rejection of the moral law and of Christ's invitation to conversion leads to blindness and at times, hatred toward the truth. CCC

Jesus teaches us that a life centered on greedy ambition and satisfaction is devoid of meaning. The fool is oblivious that his life will end, together with all his accumulated material possessions.
