myPET Podcast

With Christmas rapidly approaching the team got together to talk about the impact of Christmas cheer on our pets. The rules of moderation apply equally to our pets as they do to us at this time of year. Plus there are some very real health risks for your pets when they consume particular types of foods that are prevalent at this time of year. We also discuss the issue of anxiety and aggression (and even urinary tract infections) that can appear in normally placid pets when their environments are suddenly populated by a bunch of well meaning strangers and family members. And if you are planning on going away we’ve got a few bits of advice on things to consider before you head off. Finally we chat about the kinds of things you might like to put under the tree for Fido this year and also what the best treat options are for Santa’s reindeer when he comes to visit.

In addition to introducing the faces behind the scenes of the MyPet Podcast, this episode dives straight on in to the fascinating topic of fleas. Well ok…. fascinating might be a stretch… and although they are the bane of every dog and cat owners existence, they really aren’t that interesting to talk about. However, there have been some significant advances in control options available for these little blighters in recent years, so even if you think you know it all, this episode might be an interesting one to listen in on as a refresher. In addition, if you don’t have fleas at your house (yet) or if ground fleas are a problem, or if you have a dog (or cat) that is continuously scratching and chewing holes in themselves again there might be some info in here that could help you improve the quality of life for your mate/s. We hope you enjoy this first episode and if you have feedback for us or have a topic you would like us to cover please let us know.
