The law can show us where we are broken, but it cannot make us new.
In this episode of myPodQuest, Pastor Kip explores the difference between behavior modification and true transformation. We often try to become better people by making lists, building fences, trying harder, and promising ourselves we will never fail again. But the problem runs deeper than behavior. We do not simply need better habits; we need changed hearts, changed desires, and a new direction from the inside out.
Using Paul’s picture of the law as a mirror, this episode asks an honest question: What happens when the mirror shows the smudge, but we still cannot clean ourselves?
This is not about white-knuckle religion or pretending we have it all together. It is about grace, surrender, and the transforming work of Jesus.
Reflection question: Where have I been trying to manage behavior when God may be inviting me into deeper transformation?
One of the most sobering warnings in Matthew 24 is that because lawlessness increases, “the love of many will grow cold.” In today’s devotion, Pastor Kip reflects on the danger of becoming cynical, harsh, fearful, or uncaring in a troubled world. Jesus calls His people not only to endure, but to remain warm-hearted, compassionate, faithful, and loving until the end.
Jesus never promised a calm world, but He did tell His followers, “See that you are not troubled.” In today’s 5-minute devotion, Pastor Kip reflects on wars, rumors of wars, instability, and anxiety through the steadying words of Matthew 24. Trouble is real, but it does not get the final word. Jesus told us ahead of time so fear would not rule our hearts.
When Jesus says, “Take heed that no one deceives you,” He is not trying to frighten His followers. He is protecting them. In today’s devotion, Pastor Kip explores how biblical warnings are an expression of love, especially when deception can pull our hearts away from Jesus. This short reflection invites us to test spiritual voices carefully and ask whether they lead us toward Christ, Scripture, humility, and love.
Prophecy often begins with questions, and in Matthew 24 the disciples bring their questions directly to Jesus. In today’s 5-minute devotion, Pastor Kip reflects on why Jesus is the safest place to bring our confusion, curiosity, and concerns about the future. Instead of letting prophecy lead us into fear or speculation, we are invited to sit with Jesus, listen to His words, and let our questions draw us closer to Him.
Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall, but God’s kingdom remains unshaken. In today’s 5-minute devotional, Pastor Kip reflects on the hope, stability, and peace found in trusting the God who stands above every earthly power and every uncertain moment.
God cared enough to speak into the fears and questions of a troubled king. Today’s devotional reminds us that prophecy is not only about kingdoms and timelines—it reveals a God who understands anxious hearts, private struggles, and the burdens we often carry silently.
What does the Bible teach about the Second Coming of Jesus—and why does it matter for our lives today? In this episode, we explore the promise of Christ’s return, the hope it gives believers, and the call to live with faithfulness, readiness, and courage.
The Second Coming is not meant to produce fear or speculation, but confidence in God’s plan and a deeper longing for the day when Christ will make all things new. Join us as we look at Scripture, clarify common misunderstandings, and consider how the return of Jesus shapes the way we worship, serve, and wait.

Daniel received incredible revelation from God, yet refused to make himself the center of the story. In today’s devotional, Pastor Kip explores humility, spiritual maturity, and the quiet strength of pointing people toward God instead of ourselves.
“But there is a God in heaven…” In uncertain times, those words still bring hope. Today Pastor Kip reflects on Daniel’s calm faith in the middle of Babylon’s chaos and reminds us that God has not gone silent, absent, or unaware of what we face today.
