Hollywood has done a great job of making a good portion of the populace afraid of Hoodoo, Voodoo, Santeria, Southern Conjure, etc. Well in this episode of MMC, we tackled - while maintaining a healthy respect for - some of the myth, by talking with 'Papa Hector' Salva about Dominican Voodoo and his book "The 21 Divisions" Mysteries and Magic of Dominican Voodoo.

We were 'Live' right here on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MysticMoonCafe

Author Biography
Hector Salva (Papa Hector) was born and raised in a family of brujos (witchdoctors, healers, and sorcerers) that practiced 21 Divisions, Sanse, and Puerto Rican Espiritismo.
Papa Hector is the author at www.HectorSalva.com, the internet’s
largest source of information on Haitian, Dominican,
and Puerto Rican Voodoo traditions. He is also the
author of www.las21divisiones.com, www.sansereligion.com
and over a half a dozen other spiritual websites. In
addition to the author’s strong online presence, he
teaches workshops domestically and internationally.

The 21 Divisions: Mysteries and Magic of Dominican Voodoo
https://www.amazon.com/21-Divisions-Mysteries-Dominican-Voodoo-ebook/dp/B07XMHTVCH/

One of the first books to explore the unique tradition of Dominican shamanism, the magical practices called the 21 Divisions.

Like all forms of Caribbean Voodoo, practitioners of the 21 Divisions believe in one God, a distant God that doesn’t get involved in human affairs. Followers of this Dominican spiritual tradition believe that God created intermediaries to help humans, beings known as Los Misterios.

The Misterios are powerful beings with rulership and dominion over universal forces and human conditions. Practitioners of the 21 Divisions have ways of connecting with the Misterios to achieve success in life, improve their careers, resolve love and relationship issues, heal illness, and much more.

Filled with detailed insider information and real stories of healing, magic, and mystery, this book will serve as an illuminating guide to the 21 Divisions. Hector Salva―one of the foremost authorities on the practice of the 21 Divisions―offers his insights into:

The history and foundations of Dominican Voodoo
The major Misterios, or spirits, of the 21 Divisions
Ceremonies, rituals, and magical spells
How to get started on the path of the 21 Divisions

My apologies, the show doesn't get going until about 1:14. Still learning the functions..

Horse Magick: Spells and Rituals for Self-Empowerment, Protection, and Prosperity
https://www.amazon.com/Horse-Magick-Self-Empowerment-Protection-Prosperity/dp/1578636981
Discover inner strength and wisdom by bringing the power of the equine spirit to life with spells, meditations, and creative visualization.

Along with the bear, horses are a primary creature associated with shamanism and traditions influenced by it. They appear in 25,000-year-old cave paintings, such as those at Lascaux. They find a role in the modern African diaspora traditions such as Haitian Vodou, whose devotees are called “horses” for the spirits who ride them during trances.

The spirit of the horse exists in the subconscious minds of humans and takes shape in various forms, whether as a symbol of fertility in the land, as in Celtic mythology, or as a psychopomp, which leads the dead to the next world. The horse has made its way into the current of our collective unconscious as a universal archetype.

Horse Magick contains spells, rituals, chants, and meditations for many purposes, loosely based around equine imagery. Numerous traditions are represented, as are many deities, including Athena, Epona, and Baba Yaga. No contact with actual horses is required.

Through the use of spells and rituals, readers are able to magickally ride to their chosen destinies and fulfill their desires. Workings involve crystals, candles, and Tarot cards, items easily accessible for most readers.

Join Mystic Moon Cafe as we host the Lovely Ladies of Morbidity, Kim Douthit and Gabi Fiore, to discuss their very spooky podcast, Ghoulish Tendencies.
