N for Narcissism with Dr. Sterling Mosley

Listen Later

Ep. 178. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Sterling Mosley, a clinical psychologist and empathy researcher, to unpack the many layers of narcissism—what it really means, why it’s so often misunderstood, and how it shows up in our relationships.

We explore everything from the role of trauma in shaping narcissistic traits to the difference between healthy and harmful narcissism, and even dive into the 27 subtypes of narcissism.

Dr. Mosley shares his personal journey that led him to write two books on the subject, highlighting how empathy and creativity—especially through ballet—inform his approach to psychology and relationships. We talk about practical strategies for setting boundaries, developing empathy, and recognizing narcissistic patterns in ourselves and others. If you've ever wondered about narcissism and how to navigate its complexities in family, and relationships, this conversation is for you.
