Nabwic P3 BILLION DOLLAR WOMAN in the Spotlight, North Miami District 2 Councilwoman Kassandra Timoothe has over ten years of governmental experience. In 2012, she graduated from the University of South Florida (USF) with a degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration degree from Florida International University (FIU) in May
2020. Kassandra began her legislative career while working in the Florida Legislature
for Florida State Representative Janet Cruz (now Senator Janet Cruz) and Florida State
Senator Arthenia L. Joyner. As the Legislative Aide for Councilwoman Lisa
Montelione in the City of Tampa District 7, Kassandra realized the power of local
government, but she knew this job would be more meaningful if she were home.
In May 2015, Kassandra joined the City of North Miami as the Public Information Officer(PIO). As PIO, Kassandra became the face and spokesperson for the City of NorthMiami. She resigned from her position to run for North Miami District 2.
On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, Kassandra made herstory by becoming the first black person,
the first woman of Haitian descent, and the youngest person elected to serve North
Miami’s District 2. Kassandra will serve a four-year term as Councilwoman for North
Miami District 2 which includes Palomar, Keystone, San Souci, Iron Manors, and
