Norman Stockwell, Publisher of The Progressive Magazine, recorded this interview with the Director of the Alwaleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding and professor of Middle East and Islamic Politics at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Nader Hashemi.

Professor Hashemi is an academic, a researcher, author of books and articles and frequent and authoritative speaker on the situation in the various countries in the Near East.

They spoke about what has been happening in Iran in the past few weeks and put that in historical context. They also spoke about external influences as well as the home grown secular democratic efforts that are not widely reported on in our mainstream media.
