Welcome to the last (kinda) episode of 2024!

I'm back with my husband and we're sitting and reflecting on some of our favorite things of 2024. In part one, we sit and talk through food, music, movies, highs and lows, and laugh a LOT as we walk through some of our favorite memories from the year. As we enter the final week of 2024, our prayer is that you slow down enough to see the gifts and blessings of the past 366 days. Whether it was a trip you enjoyed, a laugh shared, a REAALLLL good plate of food, or that song that made you do a lil dance, all good things come from the Lord. And there's SO much to be grateful for.

Welcome to EPISODE NINE of the naked and unashamed podcast -- which just being on episode nine of this season is actually wild to me. Even crazier is the fact that I get to sit down with my husband for this episode and talk all things marriage!

In this episode, we reflect on our first eight months of marriage, what we've learned about ourselves and each other, and how God has grown us to look more like Jesus. And BABY, we are being oh so beautifully pruned! We walk through some of our highs and lows and ultimately how beautiful God's covenant design is.

Our prayer is that you're encouraged that marriage, especially in this generation, is ABSOLUTELY worth it. Be discerning, look and listen for God's wisdom and guidance, be real about the season you're in, but be hopeful that He truly has such good plans.

Okay, can you believe that as of when this episode airs, we have only THREE more Mondays left of 2024?! The countdown to 2025 is ON, my friends! We're just a few weeks away and as the year closes, naturally, we're all reflecting on the year that's ending and the year to come. With that comes goals, dreams, desires and the like. Here's the thing though -- as you're beginning to dream about 2025, let me go ahead and be the sign you were waiting for to let you know: you don't need to wait until the new year to start whatever it is you've been entrusted with. You actually have the resources to start and step into that thing TODAY.

The cost stretches me, but doesn't bring me to the point of deep discomfort, pushing me to dependence. And it's a REAL issue! Perhaps you're in the same place too. In this episode, we reflect on what following Jesus is worth and why, ultimately, Jesus is worth everything.

Welcome to another episode of N & U! Can you believe that we're already six episodes into this season?! This week we have another guest, Willl.Parkr -- Will is an artist, producer, audio engineer, creative director, and public speaker. In this episode, we talk about gifts and talents and how to steward for purposes beyond ourselves and our fears. We also talk a lot about creating QUALITY bodies of work and how necessary it is for us to use the talents we've been entrusted with, not bury them. I pray that this episode encourages you to be faithful with the very things you've been entrusted with and to step into the unknown -- you have no clue what may be on the other side of your obedience.

HAPPY NOVEMBER!

We're kicking off this month with a more vulnerable episode. November 8th marks one year since I got engaged and it's insane how much life has happened in just a year! God has truly been so incredibly faithful and kind -- and that's a major understatement. But if I'm being honest, the past few years of dating, engagement, and even marriage still come as a shock sometimes. I honestly never thought that I'd be married. Not because I didn't desire marriage, but because I just never imagined someone would desire to marry me. As the girl who was practically invisible to guys all through elementary, middle, high school, and college, to be seen in the way I am doesn't feel real at times.

I spent many years of my life feeling unworthy of love, too much for it, not enough for it, and believing that I had to earn the love and affection of others. BUT GOD. Through a lot of learning and unlearning (that is STILL happening) God has been revealing His heart in such intentional ways. He loves like no other and gave me the greatest gift of a husband to love me in ways that I didn't even know how to pray for.

To the one who's waiting for their person, unsure of if God sees them, hears them, or still remembers, I pray that this episode and 1 Samuel 1 encourages you. We serve a God who fulfills His promises not on our time, but "in due time."

Who else has been getting more political texts than texts from your own family at this point?!

No, but in all seriousness, November 5th is quickly approaching and let me just say: the political climate in America can be disheartening. In so many ways, the American church went about 2020 in a way that prevented people from seeing the beauty of Jesus. So how do we prevent that from happening again? How do we navigate being renewed in Jesus in the midst of a climate that can bring about thoughts, fears, feelings, and division?

In today's episode, we talk about what it looks like to be set apart as a Christian in today's political climate: being sober minded and tenderhearted, rather than hardheaded and coldhearted. SOOOOOO much easier said than done, but that's why we depend on the Spirit right?
