Naked & Not Afraid

Listen Later

KEY POINTS

- We live out our relationship with others how we live out our relationship with God.

- The picture of me is a portrait of God.

- The first step towards healing isn't perfection, it's confession.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. What "fig leaves" do you use to cover up the parts of yourself that you’re afraid others, or God, might see? In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve covered themselves with fig leaves after realizing their nakedness. Today, we often do the same emotionally or spiritually. What are some ways you’ve hidden your true self from others or God? What would it look like to stop hiding?

2. Are you living from God’s likeness or believing the lie? The serpent told Eve that eating the fruit would make her “like God,” even though she was already made in His image. What are some lies you've believed about yourself that contradict your identity in Christ? How do those lies shape your relationships?

3. What would it take for you to be “naked and unafraid” in one relationship this week? God desires us to be open, honest, and unashamed. Is there someone in your life with whom you need to be more vulnerable? What would that conversation sound like, and what’s holding you back?

4. How does honesty lead to healing in your walk with God and others? When Adam answered God truthfully, “I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid,” it opened the door for God’s grace. Where in your life could honesty lead to freedom, healing, or restored connection?
