Women’s sports are booming — but actually finding every game, score and schedule in one place can still be way harder than it should be.
This week, Nicole is joined by Dana Lerner, creator of SheScores (and soon-to-be app!), a platform that brings women’s sports leagues, scores, schedules and more together in one easy-to-use hub.
Dana talks about going from working on Broadway to building a sports website, what inspired SheScores, and why making women’s sports easier to find and follow is so important as the industry continues to grow.
They also chat about the undeniable momentum behind women’s sports, the importance of making fandom more accessible, and why SheScores isn’t only for diehard fans — it’s also a great starting point for anyone who wants to get into women’s sports but doesn’t know where to begin.
Whether you follow every league already or you’re looking for your first women’s sports team to root for, this episode is all about making it easier to be a fan.

It’s such an honor to welcome Bonnie Bernstein to the Name One Player podcast.
In this episode, Bonnie reflects on her incredible career in sports journalism and shares what first inspired her to pursue a path in sports media. From the early stages of her career to becoming one of the most respected voices in broadcasting, Bonnie opens up about the experiences that shaped her journey and the lessons she’s learned along the way.
We also dive into The Champion's Edge, where Bonnie serves as both host and executive producer. Bonnie shares the inspiration behind creating the show, why the concept feels so different from anything currently on television, and the powerful connection between accomplished women and the life skills they developed through sports.
We talk about leadership, confidence, resilience, and what Bonnie hopes audiences will take away from The Champion’s Edge. This conversation is insightful, inspiring, and full of wisdom for anyone chasing big goals — both in sports and beyond.

I’ve been completely wrong about April.
For years, I treated it like a filler month in sports while I waited for the NFL—but this year changed everything. Starting with March Madness, then you get The Masters Tournament, the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the WNBA Draft, MLB settling in, the NBA playoffs. Then to top it all off, the NFL Draft closing it all out.
So yeah… I owe April an apology.

From Rory McIlroy’s performance to the chaos that unfolded throughout the tournament, we’re getting into all the biggest storylines! We also talk about Madison’s love of golf (and football), what it’s like creating golf content on tik tok, and one question that kept coming up this year - should influencers be at sporting events like The Masters?
If you’ve been following The Masters or just love hearing real fan perspectives on the game, this one’s for you.

I am a March Madness newbie … so I brought in Nina to teach me everything. Whether you’re a total beginner or someone who lives for March Madness, this episode is for you.
We get into how March Madness actually works, bracket tips & strategy, what makes it so chaotic (and addictive), why Nina loves it—and why I might be converted.
This is episode one of our March Madness series, so we’ll be back all tournament long with updates, reactions, and probably some questionable bracket decisions.
If you’ve ever felt confused by March Madness—or just want to hear us break it all down—you’re in the right place.

Happy International Women’s Day and happy 2nd birthday to the Name One Player podcast!
Two years ago today, on International Women’s Day, I released the very first episode of the Name One Player podcast. What started as an idea to highlight women in sports has grown into a platform for conversations with incredible athletes, journalists, creators, and leaders across the sports world.
In this special anniversary episode, I reflect on the past two years of the podcast, how the show has evolved since that first episode, and what I’ve learned from building a women’s sports podcast from the ground up. I also take time to thank every single person who has been part of the journey - the guests who shared their stories, the listeners who support the show, and everyone who has helped Name One Player grow.
International Women’s Day is a powerful reminder of the impact women have across every industry, including sports media and athletics. This podcast exists because of the incredible women who continue to push sports forward, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to share their voices and stories.
Thank you for being part of the Name One Player community over the past two years. I’m excited to continue growing the podcast, highlighting more women in sports, and seeing where the next chapter takes us.
