For those who want to get straight to the point, the upfront ends at 3 minutes and 59 seconds. If you have an old NannyCast 1.0 episode lying around, get in touch! Nanny Pay:$36,000 = $13.84/hr for 50 hours, 15.38/hr for 45 hours, or 17.31/hr for 40 hours = 1384 pre-tax bi-weekly pay = 1072 after tax bi-weekly pay; 692 pre-tax per week $38,000 = $14.61/hr for 50 hours, 16.24/hr for 45 hours, or  18.27/hr for 40 hours = 1461 pre-tax bi-weekly pay = 1127 after tax bi-weekly pay; 730 pre-tax per week $40,000 = $15.38/hr for 50 hours, 17.09/hr for 45 hours, or 19.23/hr for 40 hours = 1538 pre-tax bi-weekly pay = 1183 after tax bi-weekly pay; 769 pre-tax per week $42,000 = 16.15/hr for 50 hours, 17.95/hr for 45 hours, or 20.2/hr for 40 hours = 1615 pre-tax bi-weekly =1236 after tax bi-weekly; 807 pre-tax per week $45,000 = 17.31/hr for 50 hours, 19.23/hr for 45 hours, or 21.63/hr for 40 hours = 1730 pre-tax bi-weekly = 1308 after tax bi-weekly; 865 pre-tax weekly I [Nanny Denny] took a dollar amount of a yearly salary and divided that by 52 (number of weeks in the year) to get the weekly pay and also by 26 (number of bi-weekly pay periods) to get the bi-weekly pay. These numbers are all pre-tax so far.  I then divided by number of hours (50, 45, or 40) to get hourly pay - so if you work a different number of hours, maybe 55 or 35, divide by that instead.  If you are paid hourly (or offered a job that pays hourly), then you can do the math in the other direction as well.  I used the calculator on 4nannytaxes.com to get the after tax pay.  I only figured out the after tax bi-weekly pay because I am paid bi-weekly, but you can also do this weekly.

  • NannyCast 10: Interview with a Nanny Employer from the...
NannyCast 10: Interview with a Nanny Employer from the 1980s  This episode comes from the long lost archives of NannyCast v1.0 which has been taken from us by cruel, cruel fate. Here is a trip down memory lane to close to a decade ago when NannyCast had first launched and Nanny Jen interviewed a woman (her mom) who employed a nanny during the late 1980s to early 1990s. You’ll listen to how things have changed, but also to how things have essentially stayed the same. If you have an old NannyCast 1.0 episode lying around, get in touch! NannyCast 09: On Call Nanny  In this episode, Nannies Jen and Sarah interview @nannyconfessions about the whatfors and wherehows of being an on call nanny who is an employee of an agency, rather than a single, stable family. In this episode, we make passing reference to this excellent post of hers (also appears in our website feed immediately before this episode posting), once again reiterating that even on call nannies aren’t housekeepers. We would love to have her back on a future episode, so please submit additional questions or comments so we can bring her back for a follow up episode. And if you happen to have a Tumblr account, follow her Tumblr (linked above). (download)

  • Announcing the first ever expansion for Cards Against Humanity...
Announcing the first ever expansion for Cards Against Humanity that features nannies and nanny life. FREE for you to print out at home and put into immediate use. YOU helped us generate the cards. We’ve playtested and laughed over this unique mix of cards. And now they are yours! Three sheets of cardstock, some black ink, and … DOWNLOAD Q: But why is it square? A: They are square to match Cards Against Humanity’s own free print-and-play version which can be downloaded from the Cards Against Humanity website HERE. Our expansion is the same exact size so will shuffle neatly into this official deck. You must print the file at 100% size, so make sure your printer doesn’t do some weird “fit to page” nonsense. Q: Can I play this as a stand alone game? A: It will be a very quick game, but yes. You can play it as a stand alone. This is great for playing with other nannies during the few minutes of a playdate that the children are playing contentedly. Q: These cards are giving me ideas. Will there be a Caregivers Against Hyperbole 2019? A: YES! As soon as you have an idea, submit it on our submission form. Your idea might make it to the 2019 expansion. Q: I don’t have a printer. A: We made the cards black and white, and limited the expansion to only three pages so that it would cost less than $1 to print at a print shop. Q: I don’t know how to play this game. A: Read the rules for playing Cards Against Humanity HERE. These are additional cards to enhance the main game. Caregivers Against Hyperbole is available under a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 2.0 license. That means you can use, remix, and share the game for free, but you can’t sell it without Cards Against Humanity’s permission.
