  • Alleged creator of Bitcoin Fog: He didn't do it.

We’re living in the age of automated, computer-generated law enforcement, where the evidence is often just a database match. So what happens when the machine gets it wrong?

Roman Sterlingov has spent more than five years in prison for creating a privacy tool, and he says he never did it. His lawyer calls this case the canary in the coal mine for dystopian forensic technology, and an amazing example of how your innocence won’t protect you.

When someone has unfettered access to every fragment of your life, they can piece those fragments together into whatever story they want. This is Roman’s story.

  • Google Drive Is Not Private

If you’ve been using the Google ecosystem for years, it might feel like you are trapped. But you're not. This video will teach you how to move your cloud storage from Google Drive, to Mega.

Mega is end-to-end encrypted, meaning that only you and whoever you share your files with can access them, and even Mega itself can’t.

Moving to a provider where the encryption keys live only on your device is a real step toward reclaiming control over your own data.

  • We Tried The New Photoshop Clone

An open source clone of photoshop was just released, called “Photocraft”.

It was vibe coded based on Adobe’s public specifications and observed behavior, and while it contains no proprietary Adobe code, it looks eerily similar to the original. Some people even suspected that AI might have decompiled Photoshop to source code. But even if that’s not the case, AI is getting so good that it’s very believable that it might one day be possible to do this.

If this is the case, as Eric Raymond declared, closed-source is dead.

What does this mean for privacy? It means that companies will no longer be able to hide surveillance in the apps on your devices. It’s possible that soon you’ll be able to use AI to decompile the software on your device and see exactly what it’s doing behind the scenes.

AI has made surveillance easier than ever, but we can also use it to protect ourselves.
The age of “trust us” software is ending.
    Privacy revolution incoming.

  • I made up a fake person

Companies lie to you about why they need your data.
They tell you it's for "verification." It's not. It's data harvesting with an official-sounding label.

Here's what happened when I signed up for a service with a completely made-up identity.

00:00 This happened a few days ago
00:42 We need this for "verification"
    01:00 They're lying to you
    01:50 ISPs sell your data
02:45 Stop handing out your data
03:20 Make up your own mind

The lesson: when a company tells you why they "need" your information, don't take it on good faith. Think before you hand it over, and push back.

  • The New War On Privacy And How We Win

The surveillance state is here. Flock cameras track your every move. Palantir builds digital dossiers on everyone. ICE buys your location data in bulk. Your devices are being turned against you with mandatory age verification. And the developers building our digital shields are being arrested.

The battle seems unwinnable. But history of full of unwinnable battles that were won anyway.

Phil Zimmermann vs. US Government, defeating encryption controls.
Cult of the Dead Cow vs. Microsoft, forcing the tech giant to finally take security seriously.
Clipper Chip vs. Everyone, with researchers like Matt Blaze giving a devastating blow to this backdoor tool via a peer-reviewed paper that exposed its fatal flaws.

Let's learn some lesson for how they won these unwinnable battles.
The battle for digital freedom is here, and we have the playbook to win it.

  • The 1996 Warning We All Ignored

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Cyberspace by EFF co-founder John Perry Barlow, and also America’s 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

But what does independence means in an age where our digital lives are more controlled than ever?

In this video I will walk you through three things:
    - the context of the original declaration of independence
    - the promise of John Perry Barlow’s Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace
    - the kind of declaration we need today to protect our privacy, autonomy, and independence into the years to come.

    18:17 What Now?

    22:38 The Declaration

Breaking free doesn't require a revolution. It starts with a simple decision. Stop handing over your mind, your money, and your children to systems designed to exploit and control them.
Independence, in 2026, is something you have to choose every single day.

  • 278,000 ILLEGAL SEARCHES

FISA is a sweeping surveillance authority that allows the warrantless surveillance of Americans in the name of national security. It was originally created to stop intelligence agencies from spying on people in the US without oversight. But over time, the guardrails came off. And the man who helped build some of those guardrails at the FBI now says the system has gone badly wrong.
In this video, we trace the full history of FISA, from the abuses that created it, to the safeguards that once held it in check, to how it became the legal foundation for one of the most powerful warrantless surveillance systems in America.

    14:20 Dismantling the Safeguards
    23:09 The Current Fight
24:26 This Machine Does Not Care Who Inherits It

FISA is a weapon we keep handing forward, trusting that whoever picks it up next will be as restrained as the last person who held it. When you're told to just trust the system, you're not being asked to trust the careful, decent person who built it. You're being asked to trust everyone who will ever hold it after him. Every administration. The politician you'd never vote for. The official who already thinks people like you are the enemy.

The question was never whether we can trust the people in charge today. It's why we built something this dangerous to hand to anyone at all.

  • I met activists on the front lines

I just got back from 2 weeks in Europe meeting with activists from some of the world's most oppressive regimes, who are fighting for freedom.
What I heard there shook me.
When you talk to people who have lived under dictatorship, you start to notice uncomfortable parallels to what's happening in the West right now. The surveillance creep. The ID mandates. The slow erosion of the right to communicate, transact, and move through the world privately.

These are red flags that those under tyranny wish someone had pointed out to them sooner.

9:57 – Dictatorship Can Be Dismantled

There's an analogy to be found with the sinking of the Titanic:
No one believed the Titanic could sink, so they for a long time refused to get into lifeboats until it was too late. Boats left half empty.

We still have time to get in the lifeboats. But not much.
