Napkin

Listen Later

Napkin

Be they a little square of finely folded papers

Or high-quality linen, silky soft to dab the vapors

While elbow deep in dinner something unsightly will happen

When I was little mom would wet with her mouth and use a napkin

Rub my face raw, until she felt it looked nice and clean and respectable

Cause I had a little cheese sauce running down my chin eating my vegetable

Same thing still occurs and all I know is when it does happen

I am thankful to the person that developed the good old napkin

Maybe we should get some that can clean up the planet and people

Take away the stains of war, erase divisions, rebuild the steeple

It may not be that easy, just a dream; but I know that I would be clappin’

And once again my hero, the one who saved the day? Just a tiny little napkin.
