Today I talked about the quirky truth that “queue” is the only English word where one letter does all the work, and the rest just ride along, which made me think about how real life sometimes feels the same way. I shared that I’m finally flying home after a long trip and then walked through the weather in Riverside, California and back home in Cincinnati. I celebrated birthdays like Rodney Dangerfield, Terry Gilliam, Billie Jean King, Jamie Lee Curtis, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and Miley Cyrus, remembered the anniversary of JFK’s assassination and the release of Toy Story, and highlighted today’s celebrations like National Adoption Day, Start Your Own Country Day, and Go For a Ride Day. For Saturday’s personal development topic, I dug into the question, “What would you do if you were brave?” and explored how courage isn’t the absence of fear but choosing action despite it. I encouraged listeners to take one small, brave step toward the person they want to be, make a great memory, and remember that memories are better than stuff.
