Narc -&- loss of Control
When a narcissist realizes you no longer care, it can trigger a range of intense reactions, as it threatens their need for control and admiration. Here’s how they might respond
May cause Anger and Aggression:
Narcissists often react with anger or even rage when they feel they are losing control over someone. This can include lashing out, blaming, or trying to provoke a reaction.
Lots of Manipulation:
They may attempt to regain your attention by using manipulative tactics, such as guilt-tripping, playing the victim, or making dramatic gestures to pull you back into their orbit.
Dismissiveness:
To protect their ego, a narcissist might dismiss your importance or act as if they never cared about you, attempting to devalue you as a way to preserve their sense of superiority.
Indifference or Withdrawal:
In some cases, they may withdraw entirely, shifting their focus to a new source of validation, as they seek someone who will feed their need for attention.
Each of these reactions is driven by the narcissist’s underlying fear of losing their grip on someone they once controlled
