Luke & Nicole are a married couple of critical care nurses who have different specialities of practice. They shared their journey of becoming nurses and how building their life together through this pandemic has been impacted at every turn. They share their story with joy, laughter, and shared adventures with their new dog! 

This week I am excited to share my conversation with Anna Alder. She is the creator of The Burnout Book. She is a fantastic resource and educator on nurse burnout. We talk about her experiences living, working, and pursuing graduate school education throughout this pandemic. She gives us an insight into what lead to the development of The Burnout Book blog and what is driving her work and learning in graduate school.

Sophia's story of working and serving populations as a community health nurse are rooted in the love of her family, the story her family holds as refugees from Cambodia, and the true power of nursing to impact the lives of people, families, communities, and generations. 

Exploring the impact of COVID within community health is an eye opening conversation. Additionally, her vision for serving populations is inspiring and connected to purpose.

Kristen shares her story of all of the things that happened and she worked to balance during the first 2 years of this COVID 19 pandemic: working with trauma patients, leading nursing care and practice, supporting her family through some of the most unimaginable events, and finishing graduate school.

Kristen talks about her love of nursing development, practice, and patient care, how this two years has changed her and how she works to adapt and adjust and meet the needs of the nurses and patients in an ever changing time. 

Ryan shares his experience of being nurse new to the profession as the COVID pandemic response began and what it has been like to personally and professionally to continue in a nursing specialty where death has become the prominent experience for nurses, physicians, and families of those hospitalized.

Katie tells her story of starting her career in pediatrics and women's health and her experience through COVID. Katie's work and care of this vulnerable population illuminated gaps in knowledge and conversation about Multi-system Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) and highlighted the stressful experience of parents whose children are hospitalized with COVID from the nursing perspective. So much knowledge and information is just starting to come to light about the significance and severity of MIS-C.

Aleah's story and experience of working in a COVID unit, contracting COVID, and experiencing post COVID infection syndrome as the literature, research, and understanding of it just began to develop is captivating. Her vulnerability, honesty, and openness provides a glimpse into the daily lives and lived experiences of those working to recover from Post-COVID syndrome.
