In today's image, we see the sky over Mount Shasta in California. In the sky, we see our galaxy - the Milky Way as well as a number of stars, clusters and nebulae visible in this image.

In today's image, we see the last images from the DART mission as the craft impacts on the asteroid Dimorphos. The intent of this is to try to nudge the asteroid a bit in its orbit around a slightly larger asteroid to see how this might work in the future. In the long run, this could help to nudge a dangerous asteroid away from an impact on Earth if it is detected early enough.

In today's image, we see our planet Earth without its water. While we often consider ourselves to be the water planet, there is actually a very small percentage of water on our Earth.

In today's image, we see part of the Eagle Nebula which may resemble a fairy - but, a fairy over 10 light years tall! This is part of a star forming region where ether stars are shaping the dust into patterns. Over time, the dust will be pushed away so that, in a hundred thousand years or so, we will be left with just a cluster of stars.

In today's image, we see the ice giant Neptune, the outermost planet in the solar system as imaged by the James Webb Space Telescope. This is the first time since Voyager 2 visited Neptune back in 1989 that we have been able to study the ring system of this giant planet.

In today's image, we see the spiral galaxy known as NGC 7331 in this image from Hubble Space Telescope. This may be a similar galaxy to our own Milky Way. It shows the distinct blue star clusters and pink emission of hydrogen gas dominating the spiral arms showing evidence of star formation.

In today's image, we see the Horsehead Nebula as imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope. This is an example of a dusty nebula. Observing in the infrared allows us to see through some of the dusty regions to see the star formation going on within.

In today's image, we see the star forming region NGC 3582 with the stars having been digitally removed to allow us to focus on the details of the nebula. We can also see the same image with the stars for comparison.
