Tim is the IBMA's 2014 Songwriter of the Year, PhD in History at Miami University ,Grammy nominated , Dove award winning  and has earned nearly 30 IBMA Awards. On top of that he is one of the best acoustic guitar players in the world. Tim and I chat about how technology, youtube in particular both helps and hurts young musicians, the state and history of bluegrass music and how tightly should bluegrass music hold to tradition. Merlefest attracts crowds consistently exceeding 75,000 in number, making it one of the largest music festivals in the United States. Steve and sit down to talk about all things Americana music, the push and pull of tradition and innovation, the effect of technology and were it’s all headed.

On todays episode of N2M I dialed the digits of 901 native and legend Jody Stephens. Jody was the drummer for one of the most influential bands to ever come out of Memphis. Big Star whose legacy has far outlasted the band and inspired bands like REM, Wilco, The Replacements, and Teenage Fanclub. Jody has also worked at Ardent studios and record label for years on the marketing side of things.
