Today Julie Mason and Neal Larson from Newstalk 107.9 in Idaho Falls filled in for Nate. They talked to State Representative Judy Boyle about the Special Session that starts tomorrow. Rep. Boyle is proposing heavy amendments to the bill or an entirely new bill to go along with the tax relief, tax rebate, and education funding bill already considered. What are your thoughts on the Special Session tomorrow? There is a funeral home owner in Pocatello who was charged with dozens of misdemeanors after 88 bodies were found to have been mistreated at his funeral home. Neal and Julie discussed that story second, and ended the show with a discussion about a BYU fan being accused of shouting racial slurs at a Duke volleyball player. The fan was banned, but there are now reports that the person they banned may not have shouted any racist remarks. (8/31/22)

This conversation started as a result of California announcing it will ban the sale of new gas powered vehicles starting in 2035. What are your thoughts? There are two Tribes in Idaho arguing over which one of them should be able to open a casino in Idaho. Do you think having a casino in Mountain Home is a good or bad idea? Thanks to Boise Dev for that story. A Federal Judge ruled yesterday that Idaho's abortion ban will be partially paused to allow doctors to make emergency decisions when necessary. California will ban the sales of new gas powered vehicles starting in the year 2035. This decision could lead to other states doing the same, as well as car manufacturers no longer producing gas powered vehicles. What are your thoughts? (8/25/22)

Today Biden announced that his administration is rolling out a student loan forgiveness program. It could provide borrowers with up to $10,000 for individuals making under $125,000 a year. Nate asks two questions: If you have student loans, are you going to apply for this money? Do you think this is a good thing, bad thing, or do you not care because you could get money out of it? Senator Jim Risch joined Nate to discuss not only the news of the day with student loan forgiveness, but also discussed: International affairs in Taiwan and China, and Russia and Ukraine, Inflation, the CHIPS act, and the possible change in the Senate after the upcoming November election. Governor Little announced a special legislative session today. The first day of the Session will be September 1st. The legislature will discuss a bill that proposes tax relief for Idahoans and more funding for education. Some have said that this is a political move to cut proposition 1 off at the knees before it is voted on. Nate discussed all of that and took your thoughts as well. (8/23/22)
