As schools were shutting down, we were busy social distancing. We're making the most of what we had. The whole 30 panels for $29 was my mistake. That's how much the bill would go down to.

While listening to one of our favorite radio asked, we're moving forward to get our homeowners the best deal on planet Earth for solar. We don't cover your roof to cover your roof.  We co er your electric usage.  When the new technology drops in two years, all we can do is cover your usage.  If you add an electric vehicle in two years, adding to your usage, then we can always add more panels.  By year 42, the panels are still producing 82% of what they were producing when they were originally activated.  By year 20, they are guaranteed to still be at 90%.  New solar is not like the old solar of even six months ago.

Before we install, we survey the property for a variety of reasons. Electrical, roof, sun-eye, etc. At the moment solar costs make it a no brainer. The price of solar is less than what you're paying. We don't nail the panels directly into the roof anymore.  It's based on a bracketing system.  The panels are attached to the bracketing system.  It's just a bracket that runs across your roof. What's going to happen is we're going to have one of my solar experts on out. They actually going show you on our program and you'll be able to see what the panels would look like if they were on your house that way if down the road if this is something that you're interested in at least you'll have the idea of why we don't nail them right into the roof, how we bracket them to home itself, and lastly how it protects the roof from whatever mother nature throws at it.  While we don't install on cedar shake and roofs, we will get you a brand new roof.  With older homes in Northern Jersey like in Maplewood, NJ and in Newark, NJ, this month alone we're removing cedar shake roofs here.  These homeowners are getting a 50-year roof with 3D composition shingles.  Before we install on your roof, we do a site survey.  If it's determined that the roof won't outlast the life of the panels, we'll replace the roof for you.

Solar costs and selling homes with solar. The price of solar is less than what you're paying. Raise property value, younger families look for green, clean, and inexpensive. Hey we understand, You are signing up for 5-15-year partnership with us, it’s a really long time. It’s two decades.  We understand. Most people in NJ live in their homes for an average of five or seven years.

So this 5-15-year agreement is going to see at least three or four different owners.  Just to give you an example right here, in Morristown, my hometown, we have Mickey, he actually signed up for solar six months ago. So they’ve only had the benefit of inexpensive energy for about six months, and they’ve had the opportunity to move into a new home, so what they did to sell their house so quickly is they advertised their home with solar on it and a $0 electric bill. They transferred that agreement to the new homeowner.  So the new homeowner has the benefit of inexpensive or $0, clean energy just like they had. The new homeowner will finish out that 5-15-year agreement or as long as they live in the house and transfer that agreement to the next homeowner after them. Everyone’s favorite question is what if the new owners don’t want it?  Let’s take a step back and think about that question. If you are a homebuyer, and you’re driving around the street, and you saw Mickey’s house. You see the solar panels on it. If you were against solar for whatever reason and you didn’t want it. Would you call that realtor to buy that house? Probably not. You’d just go on looking for the next house. But just for the sake of argument, let’s just say you said take those solar panels off, I want to pay more for my energy for the same thing.  If that ever happens the former owners could take their system and move it to the new house. So at no point is anyone ever stuck in a 5-15-year agreement and have to pay that out that would never happen.  Now, if it was an bad install, that's a different story, aesthetics is our #1 priority.   Before you wash your hands of solar, at least see our guarantees, and how to market the home with a $0 electric bill.

Greg: how are you?

Joey: great, thanks for asking, nobody ever does so I appreciate that. I just work for one of the solar companies, I noticed you for the panels. How ya liking it?

Greg: well, it just got installed. We don't have our net meter yet. Supposedly national grid is going to put it on in a week or so.

Joey: who'd you go through?

Greg: hmmm.

Joey: Sure, there's a million companies. It looks nice on your house.

Greg: yeah, they did a real nice job. They strung the wires through the attic, so there's no extra wires sticking out. They have a junction box so it goes right through to the basement. They did a really great job. Efficient panels.

Joey: oh, so you got a higher grade panels.

Greg: they're not the super high end. My solar index was like 91, 92.

Joey: which is great by the way. It's hard to get a 100. Every now and again, if the house faces a real southern exposure depending on how much electricity you use. You can kind of get to 105 or even 110. It gets kicked back from National Grid a lot of times. They're like, "we're here to cover the guys usage, not to give him money for this stuff". Everyone thinks it's a money maker. It's a money maker, because you're saving.

Greg: we'll end up saving 50 or 60 bucks a month, because we have electric hot water that's costing us an arm and a leg, along with everything else. We're still paying right around 200 a month. I researched this thing for three years.

Joey: you know you messed up, right? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I tell everybody. The time to do it was when they paid 42 cents. So this year, you would've got 28 and a half cents. Did you get the ownership?

Greg: so I own it, and I'm just getting the state rebate. I'm not getting the feed in tariff.

Joey: oh wow, so you're doing strictly net metering? Well, it's one for one. The feed in tariff. I still think it's a great program for Rhode Island, because there's no SREC, meaning a way to sell the energy back. Massachusetts has a great program, so does New Jersey.

Greg: so we're going to get credits. if we don't use them they go away.

Joey: you can actually save those credits, right? If you get enough of them, you can actually sell them to the people around you.

Greg: that's something interesting. Because our electric hot water usage is so high. That's why this is 11,000 kilowatts, it's a big system.
