  • The NBA Trade Deadline Will Be A Disappointment

In this episode, we break down why the 2026 NBA Trade Deadline feels like a total pump fake and why fans should brace for a quiet finish instead of a blockbuster frenzy. We talk about how injuries and recent cautionary tales (like the KD, Kyrie, Harden experiment in Brooklyn) have made front offices way more risk-averse, why the league’s best teams are leaning into the draft and depth instead of gutting rosters for one more star, and how the Luka-to-Lakers discourse has warped expectations for what even counts as a “big move” anymore. Then we zoom in on the San Antonio Spurs: what a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade would really cost next to Victor Wembanyama, why keeping young pieces like Stephon Castle matters, and whether smaller moves like a Keon Ellis-type defender or a Jeremy Sochan shuffle actually fixes what the Spurs need. Plus: Trae Young as the headline move so far, the role-player trades that could be the real action, and our prediction for what actually happens when the deadline hits.

  • The Trae Young Trade Is Terrible | Nathan But Net #87

Trae Young is officially a Washington Wizard, and I cannot get over how lopsided this deal feels. In this episode we break down why the Trae Young trade looks so bad on paper, what it says about the Hawks and Wizards directions, and what the ripple effects could be for both teams moving forward. Then we zoom out to the bigger picture stuff the league is dealing with right now: how gambling is changing the way fans watch and talk about games, whether the 65 game awards rule is actually helping or just creating new problems, and why LeBron being tied to All-Star voting conversations still turns into a debate every single season.
