The Queensland Government is facing a growing threat of strike action with nurses warning that they’ll walk off the job over what they’ve labelled a ‘woefully inadequate’ pay offer.
The proposed deal offers a 3 per cent rise in the first year, then drops to 2.5 per cent for the next two, with a small top-up in late 2027.
Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Tim Nicholls told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “It’s not a take it or leave it offer, it’s a negotiation and that’s where we are at the moment."
