This is the third annual prayer podcast for the National Day of Prayer on the 2Days Denarius podcast channel. It is vital in our times for Christians to either come together or individually seek God on behalf of our nation and the church. The National Day of Prayer as we know today was set for by proclamation in 1983 by President Ronald Reagan. Nationally, it has its roots as declared by George Washington in 1775. This episode examines the prayer of Nehemiah in chapter one in the biblical book that bears his name. Here we learn about his time of fasting and mourning for the desperate state of his homeland, while he served as cupbearer for the king of Persia. His prayer included elements of adoration for God, confession of sin, and requests for the restoration of his homeland. Because of his faithfulness the king ultimately granted his request. Rev. Thomas, once again, leads listeners into a prayer time as well.
