Naughty Parrot Radio

This episode of Naughty Parrot Radio is a bold celebration of freedom, movement, and bass-heavy naughtiness. A nod to the spirit of Pride and all those who find release on the dancefloor, this mix features heaters from Prospa, Riva Starr & Harry Stone, Biscits, Gorgon City, Overmono, and many more.

Orijinal/RIJ also drops his own track Big Booty: a trumpet-filled, bongo-slapping, attitude-packed anthem featuring a fierce female vocal. Fresh off its first-ever play on BBC Radio 1, and support from BBC Introducing, BBC Asian Network, and Jaguar on BBC Radio 1 Dance ... this one is impossible to ignore.

Closing out the mix is Featured Artist of the Week Jaguar, with her debut track Wild: a proud, high-energy statement of intent from one of the scene's fiercest champions.

Track Highlights:

• Prospa – Don't Stop
• Riva Starr, Harry Stone – Keep Me On The Dancefloor (Kolter Remix)
• Jocelyn Brown, Luke Alessi, Chloé C – The One
• Zac & PACS – Lost (Frank Ocean Remix)
• Orijinal (RIJ) – Big Booty
• Overmono – So U Kno
• Jaguar – Wild

Vibes: House, garage, bass, vocal bangers, Pride energy, bold femme presence, emotional closers.

In this special guest edition of Naughty Parrot Radio, host RIJ sits down with Roots Ginjah – an artist fuelled by a deep passion for reggae, sound system culture, and storytelling. While reggae may not be the usual Naughty Parrot flavour, this conversation brings serious insight, energy, and plenty of laughs.

Roots Ginjah shares how growing up with a record producer father shaped his love for music, his journey through reggae into techno and hard tech, and why sound system culture runs so deep. There’s even talk of “naked reggae” – though whether we ever get to the bottom of that is another story…

And of course, this wouldn’t be a Naughty Parrot guest mix without a spotlight on fresh talent. For his pick, Roots shines a light on High Smile Hi Fi – a rising name in the reggae scene with big vibes and dancefloor energy.

What to Expect:

• Origins of reggae and sound system culture
• Influence of family and cross-genre passion
• Dancehall, house, and “naked reggae”
• Spotlight on High Smile Hi Fi
• A guest mix full of Roots’ reggae flavour

Featuring:
Guest: Roots Ginjah
Host: RIJ (Naughty Parrot)

Vibes: Reggae, Dancehall, Sound System Culture, Hard Tech Influence, Fresh Talent
