Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric illness. And yet, there is still a lack of education and awareness about eating disorders which is preventing many people who are suffering from recovering. Simply put, we need to have more conversations about eating disorders so we can not only help ourselves if we find we are engaging in disordered eating, but so we can also help others and break down the stigma associated with mental illness as a whole.
In this episode, I navigate this topic with Cali Dickson, who recently recovered from a severe eating disorder. Cali shares her story to help shed light on this issue and help educate listeners on how eating disorders can affect anyone. In more detail, we discuss:
