Christmas is a happy time for many, but for some, the festive season can be stressful, challenging, and isolating.

Founder and Counsellor at Better Man Counselling, David Cantarini told Shane Doherty on 4BC Summer Drive, 'it's just a really anxious time and it's anxious for people who, again, want to put on a bit of a show when they don't have the money for it or they're tough through the year and so on.'

'So we have these sometimes unrealistic expectations on us and that creates a lot of uncertainty.'

'Anxiety does try to keep us safe, but it gets in the road of us thinking straight or being proud of our behaviour or maybe we start withdrawing or we avoid people or places or things,' Cantarini said.
