This special edition podcast of Navigating witHIIN is a brief holiday message that states how excited the Compass HIIN is for 2020 and gives an update on future Navigating witHIIN podcasts.

In this episode, we talk with South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organization’s (SDAHO’s) registered nurse and improvement advisor, Cindy Schuch, and director of quality integration, Kristen Bunt, on SDAHO’s Community Opioid Abuse Response Effort (COARE) program. Schuch and Bunt share the aims and progress in COARE by increasing collaboration, communication and identify applicable resources and gaps in prevention, treatment and recovery within the community.

Today we discuss an exciting upcoming HAI webinar series with Sandy Atkinson, a clinical quality consultant for the Compass Hospital Improvement & Innovation Network (HIIN). She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and is a certified professional in healthcare quality. Atkinson has experience as a hospital quality and patient experience director, in medical-surgical, emergency room and surgical nursing and hospice and inpatient case management.
