BE A BARNABAS

INTRODUCTION

Today we are living in the 21st century and people have everything they want for their livelihood. Science has made everything very easy for mankind. There are many machines and apps that are made to help humans, even the simplest definition for a machine is “anything that reduces human effort is a machine”. Today if you have a mobile phone with an internet connection the whole world is in your hand the good and the bad. But still, there are things that machines and apps can’t do. In this instant world when someone gets discouraged there is no instant machine or app made to this day that can encourage someone and heal someone emotionally. Mental health is a serious issue for this generation thousands are dying because of depression. Today in this world people are moving very fast because the world is very fast, but there are who are left behind very back holding something that is hindering them to go forward and think beyond. Because this is a fast world everyone lives for themselves and doesn’t want to waste their time on someone who has no hope for tomorrow and who is discouraged and thinks that there is nothing that can help them. Discouragement is not a problem that people started facing instantly in this instant world, it is from Biblical times. we see many people in the Bible getting discouraged. Even the Bible is a book of hope where there is hope for everything, the human mind has ever thought or faced. Whenever we read the Bible and whenever we come across the word encouragement the First name that strikes our mind is the name Barnabas, Barnabas is always well known for his encouragement ministry to other believers. we all see Barnabas in the Bible as a character who has always encouraged people throughout the book of Acts. Even the name Barnabas shows the importance of Encouragement. Today in this fast-moving world we are needed as Barnabas to the people who have been discouraged. I think there is some lesson from the life of Barnabas that are to be learned to become good encourager to our friends and believers. and I hope today that we all want to become good encouragers because when we are called to His ministry, we must know how to encourage people in their times of trouble and discouragement. Today I want to share 3 ways how we can be an encouragement to others and be a Barnabas in this fast-moving and non-caring world.

BY OUR LIFE

Barnabas was an encouragement to people by being an example. Acts 4:36-37, Barnabas sells his land and gives it for the mission. In this world when people are running after the worldly things and the desires of this world when can be an encouragement to others through our lifestyle, our way of living and our dealing with others. Where ever we go people watch us and see us because we Christian very nice things about loving another and forgiving one another, etc. but never can keep it to the mark, simply living with the people will show them the thing they have been searching for years. Our lives should be examples that can encourage people in this world.

BY OUR WORDS

Acts 15:31-32, Barnabas encouraged the gentile believer, by many letters and by his words and strengthened them. From the time we get up to time, we sleep we speak many things, still, we go to our bed we say, speak and speak. Our words play a very important role in our lives. People want to catch the mistake we do when we speak. Our words can play a very important role in encouraging someone. As we say people will know how our lives will be and they will be encouraged. So, we must be very much careful when we speak.

BY OUR FAITH

Acts 14:22, our faith in the True Living God, will encourage people to know the Lord of Hope. And when they will have the knowledge of our Lord, who is the answer to every kind of discouragement today the man knows. Looking at our faith in the Lord Jesus people will come to the Lord and they will also find the hope that we have in Lord Jesus Christ. And when they find Him there will be no Discouragement anymore and they themselves will be an encouragement to others.

CONCLUSION

So, this time let's try to live a life that will speak Itself of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that will change the discouraged life into a life of encouragement. So, let's close our eyes pray to God, and promise Him this movement to live a life of Encouragement in every way.
