Hawaiian Airlines says its expansion is being hobbled by the slow delivery of new aircraft. In particular, it's late getting the latest version of the singled-aisled Airbus A321neo (new engine option) that offer up to 20% more fuel efficiency. “Ours should have been delivered in 2017 and it's looking increasingly likely we will be lucky to have our first flight this year owing to production delays and technical issues with the engine,” chief executive Mark Dunkerley says.

The complexity and high-risk nature of short-dated derivatives and the volume of complaints about them has forced the Financial Markets Authority to tighten its regulatory oversight. The regulator says firms selling short-duration derivative products such as binary options and contracts-for-difference accounted for 40% of complaints it received in the past 18 months.

The Green Party’s new initial list could be disappointing to younger voters as there still may not be enough youth representation, according to political commentator Bryce Edwards. This is despite 23-year old Jack McDonald, chairman of the Paekakariki Community Board, being placed ninth on the list and 22-year old Chlöe Swarbrick, who came in third in the Auckland Mayoral race last year, being placed at 13th.

Orion shares were down 12.95% to $1.68 in midday trading following a warning earlier today about contract delays, a cash crunch and a probable capital raising. Shares first traded at $6.50 in their NZX debut on November 26, 2014.Orion Health whose shares have dropped 44% in the past 12 months, said full-year sales fell but it still expects to post a narrower loss and be profitable in 2018. It has been in talks with potential investors in the business.

A leading banking academic says the Reserve Bank is treating Kiwibank in an apparently capricious manner.
