The main elements in the parable:

• The landowner-God
• The vineyard -Israel
• The tenants-the Jewish religious leaders
• The landowner's servants-the prophets and priests who remained faithful to God and preached to Israel
• The son-Jesus
• The other tenants-the Gentiles
