Tennessee’s underrated pitching staff, led by Drew Beam, Nate Snead and AJ Causey, also did its part in helping the Vols win 53 games. But Evansville, led by Kip Fougerrouse, Mark Shallenberger and Brent Widder, also found enough home-run power to pull an upset and get through the Greenville regional as a four-seed.
