Everyone wants to be happy and in our country the right to happiness is considered a gift from our Creator. So what happens when our right to pursue happiness ends up harming, hurting, or hindering another human from pursuing their happiness? Who will protect them? Who will protect us? Who gets to be happy? In week two of this series we will examine how our greatest chance of being happy is to pursue being holy.

With a major presidential election just around corner many people are focused on their party and their political preferences. Politics evokes passion, but politics can also be problematic for one reason, we feel the need to be loyal to the perfect candidate. In the opening week of this series we will learn that Jesus calls his followers to demonstrate our loyalty to him not by looking for the perfect policy or perfect politician but by sharing God's perfect love with everyone even if we don't always agree.

One of the most difficult parts of dealing with tragedy is wrestling with the idea that there is a God who is all powerful yet seems so powerless in preventing disaster, death, and disappointment. When life hurts it is difficult to hope in a God who claims to hold all power, but what if the power that God has isn’t the power to control rather a power that cannot be controlled? In the third and final week of this series we will examine why God is all powerful and why God’s power can be trusted.

Bad things. Good people. Those two ideas just don’t seem to mix. There is no greater question of faith than the question of how it is possible that so many bad things happen to so many good people, but what if there is actually a better question that will help us to learn to live in a world where both good and bad exist at the same time? In week two of this series we will search for the answer of one of humanities oldest questions.

Disappointment. Despair. Disease. Death. In a world full of difficulty it seems that there is no real reason to believe in a deity at all. After all if there were a God, wouldn’t the world be a much happier, safer, and enjoyable place to live? In week one of this series we will examine why disaster doesn’t disprove the existence of God and why we should believe in God even when life gets tough.

On this day 15 years ago our country faced one of its darkest days yet at the same time a universal passion for service was born in the face of evil. In week 4 of this series we will examine why it is necessary to understand the need to serve others as a way of shinning God’s light in the midst of dark days.

Sometimes faith requires taking a leap and other times faith requires just taking the next step. In week three of this series, we will examine why taking the next step is important in growing spiritually and what the next step may be for you.

"If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together." From the beginning Jesus designed the church to be a team sport. There are no benefits to living a life of faith outside of community. In week two of this series, we will examine why regularly gathering together with other believers can be the difference between moving forward or falling away.
