In this post I outline the spiritual concept of "nearness" as the essential condition for answered prayer and a transformed life. Nearness is not a mere feeling but a practical, liturgical (holy service) posture demanding the sacrifice of one's whole self, contrasting it with the spiritual and resulting physical poverty of distance, even when one is physically present in the church. Nearness is rooted in intentional movement ("nagash") toward God’s place of provision ("Goshen"), which serves as a theological symbol for receiving spiritual and practical nourishment. Ultimately, the text encourages readers to shift their identity from that of a servant seeking to earn to an heir accepting the inherent wealth of the Father’s house, thereby adopting a lifestyle of grace rather than scarcity.
