Before we dive too deep into the final 11 verses of Galatians 4, we absolutely must lay some groundwork in our understanding to fully appreciate Paul's lesson in the upcoming allegory. That's what we hope to do in this sermon. Pastor Kevin

It's difficult to know exactly what Paul is all referring to in today's text. Thankfully, we don't need every detail to draw the primary lesson from Paul's words. - Pastor Kevin

Paul is afraid for the Galatians... not because they are falling into debauchery, but because they are turning away from the grace of God in Christ, and seeking justification by the law. Paul is having none of it, and he tells us why. - Pastor Kevin

Are you a slave, or are you an heir? When we consider everything God did in Christ to purchase out of slavery and adopt us into His family, we should never want to go back. - Pastor Kevin

Paul concludes chapter 3 by summing up the entire argument as he has presented it so far in chapter 3. And it's a potent, life-changing conclusion. -Pastor Kevin

Since Paul's focus has primarily been the continuation of the promises to Abraham through Christ, he now takes some time to answer the question of the Law's purpose. After all, Israel lived under the Law for 15 centuries; surely God had a purpose in giving the Law. That's what we'll consider today. - Pastor Kevin
