Beginning in 1999 with young Anakin Skywalker in The Phantom Menace, continuing in 1977’s Star Wars, and now ending in 2019 with Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, the Saga has been a long, uneven journey. Writer Chris Terrio and writer/director JJ Abrams had a difficult task ahead of them in resolving forty-two years of storytelling from many different creators. Did they succeed or will we be looking at 1983’s Return of the Jedi as the true conclusion of this tale?
