  • Negative World Podcast 075 - Marth, the Gateway amiibo
Welcome to the Negative World Podcast! This one is quite unusual as it's part two of our many-hour discussion about the April Nintendo Direct. Stephen (DrFinkelstein) is once again (obviously) joined by Andrew (Zero) and Joe (Ninsage) to finish up their discussion from Episode 74. By the time this episode aired, Joe's SJFC Smash Bros. Tournament had commenced and boy was it fun! Look for some thoughts from Joe himself in Episode 76 as I'm sure he'll talk about it. You can, and should, still go visit Child's Play Charity to see how you can continue to help their cause. Specifically in this episode the gang discusses Mario Maker, Yoshi's Woolly World and definitely 'amiibo'. DrFinkelstein has a couple of amiibo-related stories to share which paint the unfortunate picture that Nintendo has painted for themselves. Afterwards there's even more talk from Nintendo's future, so check it out! Instead of a break this time, the episode will end, but please stay tuned as HammerLord joins us for a special segment where we celebrate his Super Smash Bros. Tournaments from the website and hear his thoughts on the series. We're thankful to have such a well-seasoned player in our midsts. There is no break music in this episode but you'll find Zero's theme music still in it's place. Please comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, hosts, etc. on Negative World! You can also reach us through Facebook or Twitter. We would really appreciate the feedback. It's the best way for us to know what makes our listeners happy and we'd love to respond to some things on future episodes. We mean it! Full list of episodes

  • Negative World Podcast 074 - Charity Smash
Welcome to the Negative World Podcast! While recording this episode, we had so much content to discuss that the recording went over four hours pre-edit. Then there was an hour-long special segment recorded a few days later... thus this episode was split into Episode 74 and Episode 75. Please enjoy Episode 74: Charity Smash; featuring Andrew (Zero), Joe (Ninsage) and Stephen (DrFinkelstein). It's named as such because Joe has a very special announcement to make in the form of an upcoming Super Smash Bros. Charity Event he's hosting in partnership with the Child's Play Charity. Please head over to the SJFC Smash Bros. Tournament page where you'll find information about the tournament, a link to donate to, and the link to watch it live. Every little bit helps so please donate to the cause. The tournament will happen on April 18th; 1 PM EST. Elsewhere in the episode the gang discusses what they've been playing. Andrew brings up Dark Souls and Teslagrad. Joe updates us on Hyrule Warriors and tips us in to a very unique game called The Dream Machine. Stephen has been tackling BOXBOY! recently and some of the 3DS remake for The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. After the break the trio gets right into it with a discussion related to April 1st's Nintendo Direct. The portions found in this episode focus heavily on Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 as they discuss the DLC packs announced, what it means for the future, and finally Joe and Stephen have that 'in-depth' DLC discussion they've been wanting to have for many episodes now. Surely this isn't over. In light of timing, the episode already clocked in at over two hours so the remainder of the Nintendo Direct discussion will take place in an upcoming Episode 75. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! Music in this episode is from the The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D for the 3DS. Zero's theme music completes the show. • Negative World Podcast 072 - The Nintendo Life
Now we're caught up! Welcome to a great episode that was recorded just a few weeks back... the same day Nintendo had their last 'general' Nintendo Direct and showed us the greatness coming in Spring 2015. This episode it's just Joe (Ninsage) and Stephen (DrFinkelstein) as the duo discuss the news that came from the Nintendo Direct. They talk Splatoon, amiibo, Xenoblade Chronicles X, the 'new' 3DS XL, and much much more. That's all packed into the second two thirds of the show however as the first third is a nice Now Playing segment where the guys discuss two new Nintendo games... Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Fantasy Life. DrFinkelstein is flying south for a little while but upon his return a new episode shall be recorded, so keep an eye out for new episodes! Thanks for the continued listenership as Joe, Stephen, and the various guests all appreciate your ears and support! Music in this episode is from the Fantasy Life for the 3DS. Zero's theme music completes the show. Please comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, hosts, etc. on Negative World! You can also reach us through Facebook or Twitter. • Negative World Podcast 071 - Ignorance is Bliss
Welcome to another 'Retro-episode' of sorts... as in... very late release compared to it's original discussion period. I feel bad because we have the excellent Paleo_Orca on with us this episode. He hasn't been on the show in years and it was great having him back. Of course besides his voice you'll find the voices of Joe (Ninsage), and Stephen (DrFinkelstein) as well. The show's title of 'Ignorance is Bliss' is a reference to a lot of comments I seem to make which by now have either been revealed, refuted, or just plain silly. Luckily the other guys make more sense, or at least their commentary isn't outdated. Thus it's still a great episode where we talk about Castlevania games, Super Smash Bros., Bayonetta 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition. After the Now Playing, the group talks at length about tons of Nintendo Direct news from late 2014, including Xenoblade Chronicles X and more. The next podcast is nearly edited but I'll be on a business trip this coming week. Still, expect to see it sooner than later! Then we'll be all caught up on episodes and recording fresh once again!!! If anyone with any audio experience is interested in editing future podcasts, we'd really appreciate the support. Music in this episode is from the Guacamelee and Zero's theme music completes the show. Please comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, hosts, etc. on Negative World! • Negative World Podcast 070 - The Consistency of Nerf
The show still goes on! At this time we're actually a few episodes recorded but there's a hold-up in editing. My sincere apologies to the fans. That said, consider this episode like an awesome time capsule a few months in the making. Chris (Chrisbg99), Grant (GameDadGrant), Joe (Ninsage), and Stephen (DrFinkelstein) sat down to discuss the results of the Brawl In The Family Kickstarter and then moved on to games they've been playing. This episode we have Teslagrad, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Hyrule Warriors, and even the old-school PSX titles, Jumping Flash 1 and 2. There's even more games discussed than that so check it out! The next segment kicks off with the results of the Super Smash Bros. Stages Bracket and then into a full-blown segment on Super Smash Bros. 3DS. I hope you'll all enjoy the show. We've got two more in the can and I'm working on getting those out too when I get time. If anyone with any audio experience is interested in editing future podcasts, we'd really appreciate the support. Didn't we just have an episode? Well we did and now we have another awesome show, this time packed with tons of content in a timely fashion! You see a well known webcomic called Brawl In The Family is coming to a momentous close on October 3rd, the same date Super Smash Bros. for 3DS releases. Joe (Ninsage) and Stephen (DrFinkelstein) are joined by the creator of this this comic, Matthew Taranto (TriforceBun). They dive into what the comic has meant over the years, why it's ending, and reminisce about lost ideas that never made it to the main strips. It's not just the end of an incredible comic that he's here to discuss. He's currently got a Kickstarter which will chronicle the remaining 400+ comics in a move to establish an awesome trilogy of Nintendo comic greatness. Find out the details inside and definitely do yourself a favor by visiting that kickstarter at the link below. After that the guys talk about some other projects Matthew is involved with like Nefarious and Tadpole Treble. Nefarious only has a few days left for you to go support it, so get on it and help out the cause! Brawl In The Family: The Complete Collection To round out the podcast the team discusses the newest 3DS announcement from Nintendo, the "new 3DS". They discuss the features and some of the controversy surrounding the upgrades and thus the possible segregation of the 3DS fan base. Music in this episode is from the 3DS itself. • Negative World Podcast 067 - The Eve of President Roosevelt's Inauguration
Men, Women, and Mushrooms... it has been a little while since we've had an episode. Welcome back! Life has delayed the podcast post-E3 but now Joe and Stephen are back with another three-hour show... a 3:03:33 show to be exact. Joe (Ninsage) and Stephen (DrFinkelstein) start the show by telling some stories from July and asking 'What Do You Fink?' regarding some 'hot' topics in Nintendo-gaming lately. Then the guys talk about what they've been gaming lately. Stephen has a slew of titles to discuss... Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Limbo, The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead: Season 2: Episode 4, and The Last Of Us! Spoiler warning during the games. Below is a list of when the game discussions start to assist skipping if desired. Meanwhile, Joe spends just as much time discussing the Retron5, an all-in-one style retro-gaming console. • Negative World Podcast 064 - Mario Kart Ate My Space and Time!!!
It's the Mario Kart episode!!!! *waves hands around like Kermit the Frog... or perhaps more appropriately... a Waluigi after being hit by a green shell* (Have you all seen that .gif yet?) Stephen (DrFinkelstein) and Joe (Ninsage) are met on the racetrack by Dave (Abdooooo) and Grant (GameDadGrant) for a nice one-hour Now Playing dedicated to Mario Kart 8. To break things up we have another Music Quiz, dedicated to music from the Mario Kart franchise! Unfortunately, there is a Lightning Cloud looming overhead as the team encounters a technical difficulty and loses the last 40% of the event! It must have been Wario and Waluigi, those knuckleheads. Still, later Stephen plugs in the gap and the show does go on! In the final segment, everyone is excited for E3 2014! Surely Grant is too but by this point in the show he had to run off to another castle. Joe, with the help of Stephen, describes a special E3 game Joe devised up and we're all excited to see how that pans out for them. Then the remaining gang discusses some things they'd like to see at E3 and some concerns they have for the event. They also discuss how Hyrule Warriors can ensure it's a distinguished game in the Zelda world and what Nintendo could really do to make this year's E3 a great show. The break music is from Mario Kart 8 and it's utterly amazing. There are also sound-effects from Mario Kart 64 and Zero's theme music completes the show.
