3. Ask your colleagues what they’v negotiated for - vacation time, professional development,
4. Be prepared with your list of accomplishments and why you are a value add to the company
5. Practice and prepare for potential responses  
6. It’s OK to pause and for there to be silence in the room
7. Be in charge of your own messaging
8. Consider your best alternative - if your demands aren't met.
