As we saw yesterday, when Nehemiah returned for a brief time to Persia, the people he was leading in Jerusalem began to slip back into compromising positions with the world. In fact, they began to let the world and worldly things creep into their worship services! I’ve heard some preachers today make the statement, “The church is getting more worldly, and the world is getting more churchy.” May we ever strive to guard against compromising with the world, both in our public worship and in our private lives!
