“How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?”
What are You up to when I’m feeling abandoned?
What could Your purpose in all of this brokenness possibly be?
“How long will you hide your face from me?”
I see no end in sight to this pain and I see no indication that You are listening
Do You really care? Do You care for me?
“How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day?”
The burden of this sorrow is heavy and it seems like I have to bear it all alone.
Every hour I’m hurting, will it ever stop? “How long, O Lord?”
“How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?”
You’ve said that my struggle is not against flesh and blood, but I am not without an adversary.
How can I stand against one I cannot see?
“Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;”
Give me Your attention, please, for Your sake listen to this anguish.
I don’t think I’m doubting that You exist, but I’m not sure right now that You care.
I will still call You by the Name You taught me when my days were more cheerful.
Even in this dark place, You are my God.
“Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.” [Mark 9:24]
“light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, lest my enemy say, ‘I have prevailed over him,’ lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.
I feel like I’m close to the edge of living, show me the path to Life.
You have bought my life and I am Yours.
“But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
It may not be today--but you are giving me hope. Give me what I need today and remind me tomorrow of Your kindness.
“I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.” Amen.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”
“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
“Give us this day our daily bread, “
“and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”
“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
The kingdom belongs to You, so thank you for inviting us in.
You saved us a seat at Your table and we are grateful.
Lead us to show the same kindness to others that You are showing to us.
Help us to know how to build bridges to those You have placed near us.
May we be patient in bearing with one another.
May Your forgiveness and reconciliation become the default setting of our hearts.
Help us to see clearly our place in Your work and understand it is beyond us.
Would you help us to play our part in what You are doing in the world?
Would you humble our hearts to serve those You love?
Give us Your true wisdom and discernment. Help us to know Your way.
You have made us Your kids, teach us how to trust You.
We carry Your name now, shape us to walk worthy of Your honor.
Help us to trust Your heart for Your children when we can’t see past ourselves.
Remind us today that You are our King.
Find us to be cooperative with You rather than working against You.
Wherever we are and whatever we’re doing, may it be lined up with Your desires for us and for our neighbors.
You are all-powerful, there is nothing outside of Your control.
Lead us to trust You, especially when we do not understand.
May you receive all the glory for every good and beautiful thing, forever. Amen.
