  • Daredevil: Born Again, Halo Coming To PlayStation; Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake | NRC 88

Welcome to Neo-Reality Collective | Pop-Culture News and Reviews Talk, Hosted by Eric Brown! In the Eighty-Eight Episode, Daredevil: Born Again trailer finally dropped and looks to be a fantastic continuation of the Netflix Series that began so many years ago with many of the old cast returning to their roles with teases of Mike Colter’s Luke Cage being around still, certainly a step up from the rumored original plans they had for the series. Halo, Microsoft’s killer app video game that helped launch the Xbox Brand to the sky in 2001 is rumored to hit the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch 2 later this year with The Master Chief Collection being ported to them, hoping the rumors are true so they can fix the online issues persisting it with the hackers and the potential cross-play between the consoles. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remaster which was revealed to be in the works in a leaked internal document has been updated to allegedly be a full-blown remake of the iconic game, let’s hope Obsidian gets a shot at Remaking or Following up on New Vegas (Despite the TV Show’s reveal of the current state), and lastly we open the show up with a STATE OF THE UNIVERSE Address by our host about NRE10! • The Ultimate Wolverine Dawns! | NRC Conversations

The First Year of The Ultimate Universe is nearing the end. And in 2025, The Ultimate Wolverine Dawns the Second Year!

    (FROM MARVEL PR)

Just now at New York Comic Con’s Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing Panel, the biggest comics panel of the weekend, Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski, writer Chris Condon, and more revealed the next ongoing series coming to Marvel’s hit new Ultimate Universe. Joining acclaimed titles ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, ULTIMATE BLACK PANTHER, ULTIMATE X-MEN, and ULTIMATES is
 ULTIMATE WOLVERINE!
Hitting stands in January, ULTIMATE WOLVERINE will be written by rising star Chris Condon (That Texas Blood, VENOM WAR: DAREDEVIL) and drawn by MOON KNIGHT powerhouse artist Alessandro Cappuccio. True to the character’s origin as a government weapon, Ultimate Wolverine is an unwilling agent of the Maker, the secret creator of this corrupt universe. Mindwiped and used as an assassin, he’s still the best there is as at what he does
even if he’s not in control of who he does it to.
“When Wil Moss called me and asked me if I wanted to take on this title, I jumped at the chance and immediately had an idea of what to do with it,” said Condon. “I’m bringing my essence of storytelling from That Texas Blood to the Marvel Universe with Wolverine, looking back at what came before and bringing us something new."
“You might notice that there’s a Red Star on his costume and you might wonder why,” he continued. “If you look at that mask, there’s a muzzle on him, and that’s because he’s wild.”
In order to maintain control of their corner of the Maker’s world, three members of his council – Magik, Colossus and Omega Red – deploy their most lethal asset: The Winter Soldier! But WHO is the weapon behind the mask?
    THE MAKER’S ULTIMATE WEAPON!
Before ULTIMATE WOLVERINE arrives in January, readers will see him in action for the first time in a prelude story by Condon and Cappuccio in ULTIMATE UNIVERSE: ONE YEAR IN #1, the special one-shot that concludes the first year of Marvel’s new Ultimate Universe and sets up the next year of stories, including the Maker’s long-awaited return!

  • Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse, Venom: The Last Dance; Dragon Ball Daima | NRC 86

Welcome to Neo-Reality Collective | Pop-Culture News and Reviews Talk, Hosted by Eric Brown! In the Eighty-Six Episode, Venom’s final movie for Sony’s Spider-Verse, The Last Dance, released a trailer that featured a shocking cinematic debut of Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s Creation of their acclaimed Venom run at Marvel: Knull, The King In Black and God of The Symbiotes, much to everyone’s shock, especially the creators, having not been given an advance notice (or royalties) to the inclusion of their creations. Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse has been up on the wall regarding the future since the crunch period that Across The Spider-Verse caused along with the delay from the initially planned release date a year after the Second Film, and rumors began swirling that the film had been scrapped and restarted. • X-Men Schism II: Electric Boogaloo | NRC Conversations

The Post-Krakoa Era of X-Men is in full swing; time for a crossover that fragments and divides Mutantkind because god knows the ‘Lost Decade’ didn’t do that for ten years before House of X.

    (From Marvel’s PRESS RELEASE)

New 'Raid on Graymalkin' Crossover Pits X-Man Against X-Man for the Future of Professor X's Dream

'Raid on Graymalkin,' a 4-part crossover between Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman’s 'X-Men' and Gail Simone and David Marquez’s 'Uncanny X-Men,' begins this December.

The X-Men’s new era is fully underway, and starting this December, fans will experience an epic crossover between two of its three flagship titles in "Raid on Graymalkin!"

Left broken and scattered in the wake of Krakoa, the X-Men have since regrouped into distinct teams of their own. In Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman’s X-MEN, Cyclops leads a squad of hardened mutant soldiers out of an abandoned Sentinel factory in Alaska. While in Gail Simone and David Marquez’s UNCANNY X-MEN, Rogue attempts to build a new home with her chosen X-family along with a handful of new students down in Louisiana. Their different approaches to the X-Men’s mission erupt into a tense standoff when a plan of action is needed to take down Graymalkin Prison, formerly Xavier’s Institute.
The X-Men’s school has been transformed into a brutal penitentiary for mutants by the callous Dr. Corina Ellis, and her prize inmate is none other than Professor X himself! But after his actions during Krakoa’s fall, is Professor X worth saving? And who or what is the secret weapon that Ellis is confident will protect Graymalkin against any attack? Find out in this four-part mutant milestone that solidifies the X-Men’s post-Krakoan world!

"It's been an exciting time being part of the launch of the line of X-titles, but now we're really getting into it- our first crossover!” MacKay shared. “Raid on Graymalkin is going to push the X-Men of both Alaska and Louisiana to their breaking points and set the tone for the future, and it's been great to work with a legend like Gail in bringing it to life!"

"Writing in the X-World has been one of the most fun and rewarding experiences of my career," Simone said. “Best characters, best art team, best editors and best fellow creators, particularly Jed Mackay, who is just an idea machine. We've been throwing ideas back and forth nearly every day since we all started putting together the bones of what the X-Verse would be like, and I think it helps tremendously that we like and respect each other's work.”
“I hope that this is a precursor to more short crossovers,” Simone added. “We love the idea of doing something impactful, where it feels punchy and fast-paced, with some genuine, lasting effects. You can still just read X-MEN or UNCANNY X-MEN and follow the story, but you'll get a bigger, richer picture if you get both. As always, we have the welcome mat out for newbies and long-time readers alike!”

  • I'm Cautiously Optimistic about MAGIK | NRC Conversations

I’m Cautiously Optimistic about Magik’s First Solo Ongoing Comic given The Conductor of X, Tom Brevoort, past comments about the character and what he could do now that he holds the editorial keys to the X-Men Kingdom.

    (From Marvel’s PRESS RELEASE)

Magik Defends Mutantkind From Demonic Threats in New Solo Series

Writer Ashley Allen and artist Germán Peralta launch Magik’s first-ever ongoing solo series this January!

This January, mutant icon Magik headlines her first ongoing solo series! The X-Men’s resident sorcerer will unleash her Soulsword, spells, and dark side against mystical threats targeting the mutant community.

Rising star Ashley Allen, who wrote the character earlier this year in X-MEN: BLOOD HUNT—MAGIK, will write the script. The character will be drawn by acclaimed artist Germán Peralta, known for his recent work on BLACK PANTHER and last year’s LOKI series.
From Colossus’ kid sister to New Mutant, Illyana Rasputina has climbed the ranks over the years to become the fiercest X-Man of them all, and her long overdue solo adventures will see her tap into her mystical expertise and unique mutant magic like never before.
The mystic mutant goes demon hunting in her own series! The X-Man Illyanna Rasputina strikes out on her own with new allies and dark powers arrayed against her. Something ancient has awakened beneath the Alaskan ice. Unfortunately for it, that’s Magik’s territory now!
Throughout the series, Magik will also be forced to come to terms with her tragic history and learn to control her demonic Darkchylde persona. After years of suppression, Illyana’s Darkchylde form returns from the depths of her tormented soul to offer her more strength and power, but at what cost?
“I’m beyond excited to be returning to write Illyana!” Allen said. “Supernatural stories featuring characters with hearts of gold are my favorite, so this series has been a dream to write! I can’t wait for readers to experience the adventure we take Magik on to slay some demons
and maybe accept some of her own.”

“I am very excited about this project,” Peralta shared. “Magik is a character with an incredible background, surrounded by darkness and mystery. Additionally, she is visually spectacular in all her versions, and I personally love Chris Bachalo’s design. I really enjoy drawing action scenes, as well as emotionally-driven scenes, and Ashley Allen writes a super intriguing script, where she balances both of these types of situations, making my job even more fun than it already is. I mean, what artist wouldn’t love to draw Magik with her great sword facing all kinds of demons?”
